Hamburger Steaks with Brown Gravy

When I was first married 25 years ago this was one of the only meals that I knew how to prepare. It still to this day remains one of my husband’s Richards favorites.


Hamburger Steaks with Brown Gravy
1 pound ground beef
1 envelope of onion soup mix
1 can slice mushrooms
2 packages brown gravy mix2 cups water

In a medium size bowl mix together ground beef and soup mix; shape into 4 patties, set aside. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat; add patties to skillet, brown on both sides. In a small bowl blend together gravy mix and water; add to browned patties in skillet; add sliced mushrooms. Bring to a boil reduce heat and simmer about 15 minutes or until gravy is thick and patties are cooked through.
